- Fours over Rumba, composer:Sakis Laios
type: Exercise, tala: Tintal, jati: Catasra, baj: Saloniki baba, source: musicking.gr, focus on: Hand independence. 4s over Rumba, complexity: 6
Hand independence. Left hand plays a rumba-structured ostinato (3+3+2: Ge - - Ke - - Ke - ), sometimes altering the Bola-s, but still mainting the structure. Right hand plays the phrase "Na Te Ti Ri" (on the 1st part) and "Na Na Te Ri" (on the 2nd part), while "sliding" (moving by 1/4 of a Matra in each Avaarta) "later" than [usually visualized as "to the right of"] the rumba ostinato, until it reaches a completion of the adjustments and the initial pattern is reached.

Transition to each subsequent pattern is achieved by playing 2 Na-s, instead of 1 (in the pattern), and thus starting the pattern with the 2rd Na (moved by 1/4 of a Maatra later)
